Mission
We need to develop a mission statement for MADDSA. Goal is
to have mission statement ideas to revise and discuss at the Jan. meeting.
Communication
How do we want to communicate more efficiently? Mailings are
costly, but email is free. Lois Degner volunteered to create the email
list and to add/delete as needed. MADDSA will also have the info on their
website. We don't want to exclude anyone if they don't have email, so we will
use their agencies fax number. A suggestion was made to send out one last
mailing to warn people that MADDSA will be changing their communication to email.
Tom will get the mailing list from Goodwill and take the cost out of the
treasurer.
Administrative Support
Any agencies willing to volunteered time and service to help
out with administrative work let Tom know.
Sandra Butts from Milwaukee County volunteered to have her
staff to send out the last MADDSA mailing.
Milwaukee County-Sandra Butts Report
Completing contracts for Purchase of Service-the accessible
housing contract staff are visiting homes and discussing with individuals and
the application proves. Plymouth Manor is closing and Milw. Cty is discussing
the alternative placement. A few adults have been moved from the State Center and Milw. Cty. is involved in finding placement. Discussions with guardians
and caregivers are being held and they are touring different places for
alternative living arrangements. Moving forward with the crisis
home and Sandra will update us at the next MADDSA meeting in Dec. The county
has sent out letters to various agencies to let them know that the county will
be looking at standards, and compliance and possible audits in 2007. They are
focusing on outcome based goals, progress, and meeting the needs/goals of the
family. Expect to hear more about this in 2007.
Suggestions to have Kathleen Luedke from the State to
discuss long-term care design at a future MADDSA meeting, possibly Jan. 2007.
Job opening for a person to provide adult care 6-8 hrs.
monthly. The person will need to live in upper flat, rent $300.00 monthly, with
a garage. Call 588-9941 and ask for Chris Jankowski with Support Solutions.
